Shopping in Santorini can be great fun. Tiny
shops flank the cobble streets, while beautiful galleries,
quality leather shops & loads of Gold shops sit side by
side with local handicrafts & small souvenir shops offering
cheap buys. Prices range from the very expensive to the ludicrously
cheap.
Fira town has the main shopping center, since it is the island
capital. But Oia, with its' Art Deco Galleries, Gold Shops,
& Handmade Wooden Artifacts on the north coast & Kamari
Beach with its' seaside promenade, boutiques & Ethnic
Craft Shops on the south east, are excellent places to visit.
Shopping during the Summer Season goes on late into the night.
Some visitors do their shopping, dash back to the hotel to
leave their buys, change togs, & go straight out to the
clubs! Or if you are in no hurry, at the end of the day when
things have quietened down, the local shop keepers might invite
you in for a cup of Greek coffee & chat about their families
& history on the island ... |
